About This Project

A public art project that explores the scaling stages of gentrification and questions a community’s ownership over the development of their neighbourhood. Bypassing the integrations of independent cafes, alternative galleries, and trendy restaurants, the piece envisions a fully-gentrified East Danforth strip. The parodic installation of a high fashion house into an unsuspecting community creates an engaging intervention that challenges passersby on the street level to reconsider their surroundings under the light of rapid urban development.
